Well I have just returned from catching a glimpse into a time long ago in a galaxy far, far away. . . . That’s right Star Wars: The Force Awakens is out and we can finally see what Disney has done with the Star Wars franchise.
I will say that the visual effects of the movie are quite well done. Reaching back to the old school way of doing things does seem to be a better fit for Star Wars than a lot of CGI. At the very least the CGI in The Force Awakens is used in a way to boost the natural elements not just put a band-aid on something as a way of making a scene look good.
As for the plot of the movie and the new trilogy that Disney is making -- it's strong and appears to be headed for great things. Though, I will honestly say that I am not happy where it went due to the removal of the extended universe that had been created at the time of Disney’s purchase of Star Wars.
I am, however, happy with the fact that Disney did make a good solid film that will blindside folks as they watch the film and learn where we will be heading in this galaxy.
