So thanks to Krullen, yet again, for introducing me to another new game: MineCraft.
MineCraft... where to begin? The Developer Notch (Markus Persson) has, in my opinion, created one of the most simple, yet addictive, games I have ever played. It's been labeled as a sand-box game with a single-player and multiplayer aspect as well.
Single players will find themselves immersed in a very large map that allows your imagination to be unleashed and gives you the freedom to do just about anything within the game guidelines you want. You can explore your randomly-generated environment and modify it limited by two things:
- What you can mine/find/create in-game;
- Your imagination! The night and day aspect of the game adds an interesting twist to your gameplay as well as you will very quickly discover that there are things that "go bump in the night"!
The multiplayer aspect of this game, from my brief look at it, allows you to play with others online working towards a common goal of building things and/or destroying things that others made. This brings a fun aspect to this game allowing one's imagination to run wild, thinking up games to play and goals to collectively work on and much more.
For those not afraid to try a new game they'll most likely get addicted to, and willing to spend some time allowing your imagination run wild in creating your own personal world, I highly recommend you have a look at MineCraft.
Here are some screenshots of my world,
