In this article, Horton states:
"Now, with decisions looming on climate-warping mega-projects such as the Kinder Morgan and Energy East pipelines or the Malaysian government’s fracked-gas terminal on Lelu Island, Trudeau must decide whether to double down on Stephen Harper’s vision of Canada as a climate-sabotaging fossil fuel superpower — or break with Harper’s legacy and steer Canada toward genuine climate leadership."
I'm proud of our Prime Minister. Both he and Mr. Biden deserve a nod of respect for their cohesive stance towards climate control as well as the recognition they both gave of the "wave that cannot be stopped". It gave me serious chills. I felt a positive connection tonight. It was good.
We know we're running out of time and that changes need to be made now; but I think what most people are worried about is how this transition is going to affect them and their ability to take care of their families. And rightly so. But I believe it can be done to the mutual benefit of all Canadians as we do our part in this global initiative.
We're a strong nation who's proven to work well together in the past, pushing forward with strength, determination and renewed hope. After all, we all want the same thing, right? A clean, healthy environment balanced with a thriving and self-sustaining economy. Or something like that.
I may be a dreamer by heart, or a true Utopian, if you will, but I really believe this dream can become a reality.
So if you were to ask me right now what the climate was like in Canada? I'd say "Pretty damn good."
