For those of you who have been looking forward to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 I am happy to say the wait is over. It has been a good many years since we first set out with Harry Potter on his many adventures after he learned that he was a wizard. For those of you who started this journey in the pages quilled by J. K. Rowling it has been a good few years since June of 1997 when Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was published in England. For those of us who started with the films we have been waiting for this conclusion since November of 2001. I will do my best to compare this film with the ending of the of the book while trying not to drop too many spoilers.
For those of you who have seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 you will be happy to learn that Part 2 starts with the last scene of Part 1 and moves on from there. The movie does stay fairly true to the book in my opinion with a few embellishments and a little reworking here and there. The nice thing is that all of the main and fundamental parts of the saga's ending are there. There are the main duals that everyone I am sure will be looking forward to. I still will say that the way Rowling does the final dual in the book is much better than the way it is done on the big screen, as well as a few of the post-fight scenes.
I will also say that my favorite parts of the movie would have to be lines that I don’t remember in the book but when seen acted out they make themselves worthwhile. Both Neville Longbottom and Professor McGonagall really shine here in my opinion.
With my few misgivings I still rate this film:
